Apologize for having neglected this blog for many months. ziggyzest , thank you for nudging me :D.

It's been raining a lot these past few days. As winter is approaching, the temperature goes down to around 11 degr C during the day. Warm enough to go around with light jackets,  big umbrellas and rubber boots. However, insulations in houses  in Sydney are very bad which makes the cold creeps and stays inside the apartments. And like most houses over here, our house is not equipped with central heating. I sometimes feel ridiculous to put heavy sweaters, socks and bathrobe to keep myself warm inside, then when leaving the house, it turns out that it's warm outside. Anyway, it's a minor thing which hardly put my mood down.

On another topic,  moving to down under has changed my writing taste. Suddenly I'm very much into fiction which explains my long absence from the blogging world.

Today, Femina Magazine No. 22/XXXVIII (5-11 June 2010) published my first ever written short story, titled "Kereta Bawah Tanah" (the Subway Train), written in the Indonesian language, with Munich, Germany as the setting. It's  about a chain of events that happened to five people who witnessed a murder in a subway train.
PS: Monica in Jakarta, thank you for helping me to scan!!!

Last year In December, Le Banian published my article titled "Parler la langue indonesienne alors qu'il y en a tant d'autres' (Speaking Indonesian Language While There Are So Many Others) where I shared the multilingual journey of our family.  It was translated to French by Le Banian's Miss Guygot and Miss Blanchard.

At this very moment, I'm in the middle of a fiction writing project, which I hope will be finalized soon.

I will make effort to keep this blog alive, especially now that kids are growing (Joseph is 6.5 yo, Louise is 3.5) and we are back to our trilingual Indonesian, French, English formula.  My plan is to update our youtube video asap, on the conversation between the four of us, which is now becoming very complicated as both kids speak and understand the three languages.

TOP MARKOTOP! Selamat debutnya. "Pace" cerita sangat baik, ritmenya seperti kereta bawah tanah. Suspense dan tema terselubung juga OK tanpa ada kesan menggurui (misal ttg gerakan anti orang asing) dan deskripsi gak penting yang ngeracunin ritme cerita! Hebaaaaat! Cerpen lebih susah lah drpd novel iya nggak? I loooove it!

Thanks, Katz. Wah .. susahan mana antara nulis cerpen dan novel? Tergantung idenya kali .. kalau idenya lagi mandeg, ngga ada yang jadi. Kalau lagi lancar, both bisa cepet kelar.

Wow, amazing and just great.

This is proof of the hypothesis that an author to become an extremely prolific writer, (getting non fiction, short story and novel published within 6 months is a resounding success by any measure) has to change her biosphere.

Re: admiration
Aaaah you know what... I'm glad that we will stay put for at least 10 years in Sydney. I moved 6 times in 12 years (twice as a single, 4 times with hubby and kids) and I do start to feel tired of moving around!! So, lets' just see what being immobile will do to me and my writing hehehe.
As for the publications, thank you, but the novel needs more months to be out (if everything goes well, amen :D)

Absolutely delightful, reading your story. I just start learning French so wouldn't able to read your long article. Maybe someday!

I admire your determination and persistence. I wish I had half of it!

Can't wait to meet you in August!

Hi Reve! We are fine, thank you. I just wrote a couple of postings. For one reason and another (as I explained on both postings), it was hard for me to write on multilingualism.
